The Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation (MGMiŻŚ) is an office of government administration servicing the minister competent for the four branches of government administration: maritime economy, water management, fisheries and inland waterway transport.
Our main goal is to use the social and economic potential of Poland related to the location on the Baltic Sea and the management of water in our country. This objective is achieved in the following aspects:
• reconstruction and revitalization of the shipbuilding industry,
• development and expansion of polish ports,
• restoration of inland navigation,

The Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology is an office which supports the Minister in the field of the economy. The Ministry’s focus is on developments within the business environment, helping bring real change for entrepreneurs.

Our goals include minimising administration barriers, keeping up to date information regarding export procedures and changes, allowing our entrepreneurs to develop as our partners and not to feel like customers. Our aim is to help entrepreneurs develop their businesses by making it as easy as possible for them to follow through on their ideas and carry out their activities in Poland.

The very nature and place of investments along with the quality of new jobs will be key factors to be considered in the process of granting tax allowances in the territory of Poland.

Technologically advanced projects are of particular importance for us, for example improving the quality of air in Poland by coordinating the “E-Bus” Programme for emission-free modern urban transport.

An important aim of the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology is to keep increasing exports of Polish products to the Global Market by opening up new opportunities and developing current programs.

We are moving towards “Industry 4.0”. This is an opportunity for Poland to take the lead in the field of innovative industrial sectors. We support the development of new innovative ideas helping businesses during their early stages, under the dedicated Programme “Start in Poland”. With this in mind we encourage the utalisation of streamlined working procedures such as electronic forms of payment.

The Polish Space Agency (POLSA), as a governmental executive body, fulfills the strategic space-related goals of the Republic of Poland by undertaking activities aimed at broadening the utilization of satellite systems and accelerating the development of space technologies for the benefit of public administration, science, economy and defence.
POLSA's primery goals include:
• coordinating Polish space activities at the national and international levels,
• representing the Republic of Poland in relations with international space organizations,
• fostering the growth and promoting the achievements and competences of Polish space companies and R&D entities,
• increasing the national security capabilities of the nation,
• expanding the use of satellite data by public administration.

The Polish space sector

The Polish space sector is comprised of a sizable group of nationally- and internationally-recognized research institutes, top technical universities and ca. 50 SME companies. Some of the large companies from the Polish aerospace and defense industry are also active in the field of space and satellite technologies. The total employment in the Polish space sector is estimated to be 1,000 employees and is constantly growing.
Space activities in Poland have been initiated by research institutes and higher education institutions, which have been conducting space research within international consortia since the 1970s. Space Research Centre (CBK PAN) and other national research institutes have so far participated in over 60 space missions.
The beginnings of cooperation between Poland and the European Space Agency date back to 2007, when the Program for European Cooperating States (PECS) entered into force offering domestic entrepreneurs new possibilities for participation in ESA projects. Poland's formaI membership in ESA in 2012 accelerated the development of the national space sector. Today, domestic entities actively participate in programs financed by the Agency, cooperating in all aspects of their successful implementation with the prominent European partners. Polish companies and research institutes have so far completed or are in the process of implementing over 330 contracts commissioned by ESA.
Fields of the Polish space industrial specialization and technological expertise include:

The European Commission has the overall responsibility for the Galileo and EGNOS programmes.
Galileo is Europe’s Global Satellite Navigation System. Since 2016, Galileo Initial Services are available for public authorities, businesses and citizens. The first services offered by Galileo include the Open Service, the Public Regulated Service and the Search and Rescue Service. The full and complete portfolio of Galileo services will be available by 2020, when the satellite constellation and ground infrastructure are complete.

The VBOX Indoor Positioning System consists of a network of fixed beacons and a standalone receiver which computes its position 100 times a second to around 2.5cm rms accuracy. The system can be used on its own or with an internal IMU to improve velocity accuracy.
